About

Hello, I'm Asher – a Jamaican-born, UK-raised graphic designer and illustrator.

My vibrant background, shaped by spice, sing-song accents, tea, and alternative comedies, has greatly influenced my work. It’s reflected in my bold use of colour palettes and striking forms.

I’m currently in my second year of a BA (Hons) in Graphic Design at Arts University Bournemouth, where I’ve deepened my understanding of design principles, typography, and creative problem-solving. During my first year, I had the opportunity to collaborate with Lush Cosmetics on a live brief. Immersed in the fast-paced environment of the industry, I worked diligently to refine my skills and apply them to meet industry standards.

My long-term interests focus on publishing, posters, and packaging. I find it uniquely satisfying to bring others' ideas to life and turn the intangible into something tangible.

I'm proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite and currently exploring After Effects, Premiere Pro, JavaScript, and HTML. While I’m keen to develop my motion design and coding skills, I’d say I’m not yet one of life’s natural animators or coders, though that could change.

In my free time, I enjoy writing, painting, and helping (perhaps annoying) my brother on his mixing desk. I also freelance and have worked with the Museum of east Dorset for their October reopening.

If you’ve enjoyed reading this and are interested in my work, feel free to contact me – I look forward to hearing from you.
